09-11-2022Weekly ReflectionFr. Charlie Goraieb

Dear Friends,

This weekend we inaugurate our Teen Mass on Sunday night, followed by the Life Teen program. I am very grateful to all those who have (and are) helping to re-formulate our outreach to our Junior High and High School youth. We all know the profound challenges they face in our highly politicized, secular culture. But we trust in the superior power of the Gospel and the Love of God to change people’s hearts.

Our Youth Minister, Miguel Nuñez is doing an excellent job in re-building these programs and drawing a core team of committed people to help. Please pray for the success of the program and for transformation of all those who will be drawn to Life Teen and Edge.

A special thank you to all of you who have been attending the 5pm Sunday Mass. There will obviously be some changes and additions to welcome the young people present, but the Mass will continue to be prayerful and reverent. Please pray for the success of our efforts.

Spiritus. What is this? On Friday evening (September 16) we will gather to call upon the Holy Spirit as we Praise the Lord in Song and Adoration and to seek His healing power for all present. If you are in need of healing of any kind, or just want to join in a joyful evening of prayer and song, please come to the Spiritus evening. Let the Lord recharge your spiritual batteries and gift you with His healing power.

This coming Thursday Bruce Scott, Jeff Harb and I will go before the Diocesan Building Committee to present to them our plans for the Adoration Chapel. With the Committee’s approval, we can then begin to prepare the detailed drawings needed to obtain building permits and all of the other details necessary to move forward. I have held off widely presenting the plans, but if we obtain Diocesan approval, I will be rolling out the drawings and the plan to make it a reality. Please pray that God’s Will be done.

May God bless you and your family, Fr Charlie Goraieb
