Approaching Holy Week
by Fr Charlie Goraieb | 03/26/2023 | Weekly ReflectionDear Friends,
Three weeks ago, I announced in this column that Bishop Dolan has asked me to step down as Parochial Administrator (aka, Pastor) of OMLC. In that regard, “thank you” to all who have expressed your gratitude for the service I have been able to offer you over these past months.
Today I am announcing that our Parochial Vicar (aka, Associate Pastor), Fr Robert Aliunzi will be your next pastor. You know first-hand what a joyful and dedicated priest Fr Robert is. He also has served as pastor in two parishes over 17+ years, so he brings a great deal of experience to the position.
Because Fr Robert’s assignment will not begin until July 1st, I officially remain in my position until June 30th. I will be taking my vacation in the month of June and then will report to St. Anne’s in Gilbert where I will be serving as a Parochial Vicar under Fr Keith Kenney.
There is still much to do as we approach Holy Week, Easter and all of the end-of-school-year activities, so it is too soon to say good-bye. But I do ask for your prayers for Fr Robert and myself during this time of transition. And please don’t forget to pray for our Sisters as they wind down their ministry here at Mt. Carmel.
May God bless you and your family, Fr Charlie
