Religious Education for Children

"the family, like the Church, ought to be a place where the Gospel is transmitted and from which the Gospel radiates"

Pope Paul VI

Parents are the first evangelists, main catechists, and spiritual guides to their children. OLMC Religious Education is here to accompany and guide you to share your faith into the lives of your children, and together as a family deepen your relationship with God through prayer and action.

OLMC Religious Education offers Children’s catechesis for 1st-5th graders, using the Faith and Life series curriculum. All Classes Grades 1-5 Meet on Sunday, 10:30-11:45am in School Classrooms. (Optional parents’ sessions will meet in McCready Hall North at the same time.)

Our first class will be a Meet and Greet in McCready Hall North on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Sacramental Preparation will take place within the RE classes. Sacrament Preparation is a 2-year program for children (2nd - 5th grade) who want to complete the sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist) to be a full member of the Catholic Church.

Students will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation after the first year of catechesis, and they will receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist at the end of the second year of catechesis. Their readiness to receive the Sacraments will be determined by the parents and those who accompany the child in the process.

For sacramental preparation for teens (6th-12th grade), please follow this link for OCIT Program.
