Religious Education for Children & Teens
"the family, like the Church, ought to be a place where the Gospel is transmitted and from which the Gospel radiates"
Parents are the first evangelists, main catechists, and spiritual guides to their children. OLMC Religious Education is here to accompany and guide you to share your faith into the lives of your children, and together as a family deepen your relationship with God through prayer and action.
Sacramental Preparation is a 2-year program for children (2nd-5th grade) who want to complete the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist) to be a full member of the Catholic Church. It consists of weekly catechesis for the child and parents.
Students will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation after the first year of catechesis, and they will receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion at the end of the second year of catechesis. Their readiness to receive the Sacraments will be determined by the parents and those who accompany the child in the process.
