The Stewardship of Treasure: A Call to Generosity

by Fr. Robert Aliunzi  |  09/20/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Dear friends,

This weekend, our focus turns to the stewardship of treasure, and we're asking you to consider a financial commitment to our parish. This isn't just about meeting a budget; it's about recognizing that everything we have: our talents, our time, and our financial resources, as we have been emphasizing, are gifts from God. How we use these gifts is a reflection of our gratitude and our faith.

When we talk about the stewardship of treasure, we are invited to a deeper understanding of generosity. It's an opportunity to intentionally and prayerfully set aside a portion of our income to support the mission of our church, which for us is to get everyone who walks through the doors of our parish to heaven. Looked at this way, this becomes more than just an obligation; it's an act of worship. Our financial contributions are a tangible way through which we participate in the life of the parish and support the work being done here, from our ministries and outreach programs to the upkeep of our beautiful church.

Making a financial commitment is a personal and prayerful decision. It's about examining our own resources and determining what we can consistently provide throughout the year. It's a way of being a partner in the work of our parish. Your contributions, no matter the amount, are what make everything possible. They allow us to:

  • Serve our community through various outreach programs and charitable efforts.
  • Provide a vibrant space for worship, learning, and fellowship.
  • Nurture the spiritual growth of our children and adults through religious education and faith formation.
  • Ensure the long-term health and stability of our parish.

As you consider your financial commitment, we invite you to pray on it. Ask yourself, "How has God blessed me, and how can I, in turn, be a blessing to others through my financial support of our parish?"

We understand that everyone's circumstances are different. The important thing is to give thoughtfully and with a grateful heart. We encourage you to fill out a commitment card and place it in the collection basket or return it to the parish office. This simple act is a powerful sign of your partnership in our shared mission.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support.
