World Day Of Peace Message

08-04-2019The Sisters Corner

God invites us to announce Him and spread His Gospel to everyone. One of the missions we are grateful about is to serve in our Parish’s School. It is such a blessing and a great mission to be able to help the children encounter Christ, allow them to know and live their faith. For us, there is such a great joy knowing that through this service, we equip the children with not only information but with wisdom that allows them to live a life rooted on our faith’s teachings and values.

We want to share words from Benedict XVI about Educating:

"Educating – from the Latin educere – means leading young people to move beyond themselves and introducing them to reality, towards a fullness that leads to growth... It calls for responsibility on the part of the learners, who must be open to being led to the knowledge of reality, and on the part of educators, who must be ready to give of themselves. For this reason, today more than ever we need authentic witnesses, and not simply people who parcel out rules and facts; we need witnesses capable of seeing farther than others because their life is so much broader. A witness is someone who first lives the life that he proposes to others."

Pope Benedict XVI, World Day Of Peace Message, 2012

We ask you to pray for each one of us who work in our School so that we may truly fulfill this mission with generosity and, as Pope Benedict XVI invites us, be authentic witnesses ourselves.
